Nanban for Deepavali?Shankar's much awaited multistarrer Nanban (remake of Aamir Khan's Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots) will reportedly grace theatres this Deepavali.

The film is making brisk progress and the producers have confirmed that it will be a Deepavali 2011 release.

In the film, Vijay will appear as the unorthodox genius Rancchod Das, which was played by Aamir Khan. Jiva and Srikanth will appear as the naïve Farhan Qureshi and Raju Rastogi, which were played by Madhavan and Sharman Joshi respectively. S.J. Suryah will play the role of Chatur (Omi Vaidya). Ileana D'Cruz will appear in the role played by Kareena Kapoor and Sathyaraj will appear as the insensitive professor Virus, played by Boman Irani.

It's almost confirmed. And only an official announcement has to be made. That 'Nanban', the Vijay-Srikanth-Jeeva starrer directed by Shankar, will see the light of the day on the day of lights- Deepavali.

A Tamil remake of Hindi blockbuster 'Three Idiots', 'Nanban' is busy taking shape in Coimbatore, Ooty, Andaman and Amsterdam. "Most parts of the shoot are over and Shankar will commence post-production soon," say sources.
